Thanks to leading Melbourne and Zomato blogger Sharon from Lips Temptations for her wonderful review...
CH James are named and inspired by Charles Henry James, a businessman in the 1870's and 1880's. He spent much time in Fairfield area and he's a dreamer and influencer who benefits lots of suburbs in Melbourne. He is also known as a hipster and fashionable with his silk brocade and heliotrope ribbon.
The cafe it self divided in several area; indoor ground floor, their garden space and level two Valensia function space. There's plenty of room for a small or large group of people. The interior was simple, minimalistic but modern but I love the courtyard so much with various flowers, plants, big umbrellas and farming tools. It has a chill, laid back and summery feeling to it.
It's been another busy month for me so when I received the invite from David, @theworldlovesmelbourne I was pretty disappointed I couldn't make it but the owner was nice enough to let me come a day before the event with a friend of my choice. We started our lunch with Skinny Cappuccino, Iced Chai and Orange Juice. The coffee was decent, the chai was refreshing and nice so does the orange juice.
Spring Fruit Bowl - berry gel, honeyed yoghurt ($16). This is my favourite out of all just because it's so perfect for summer. I would love more of this please! Just simply refreshing and the yoghurt was delicious.
Prawn Linguini - peas, broad beans, cherry tomatoes ($18.5). This is one of the nicest prawn linguini I have tasted recently. Pasta was cooked al dente, very well seasoned with generous sauce and prawn. My friend love it as well.
Pan Roasted King Ora Salmon - cos, cucumber kimchi, prawn emulsion ($20). The salmon was perfectly cooked with a nice kimchi as well as tasty emulsion. Everything was nicely match and tasted really good.
The service was friendly and attentive. I had a really nice time at CH James and the food was delicious, I love it. This is certainly one of the cafe to go to in Fairfield area and it's also walking distances from the station.
