In recent times CH James added new autumn options to our menu, and they are proving popular with locals. Our Chef Franck has been busy in the kitchen creating new dishes that reflect his philosophy for honest food that is fresh and seasonal. Franck brings his background in fine dining, offering loads of technique to the dishes. With the advent of Rebecca our highly qualified new sous chef, the kitchen is firing.
Dr Marty's crumpets, cured ocean trout, holybernay,chard & poached eggs is a hugely popular brunch option. Dr Marty's crumpets have been a Melbourne sensation since they began - crumpets that are not stodgy but light (although filling). Combine these fine crumpets with quality house cured ocean trout, holybernay, and a superb chard, then you have a well balanced and exciting dish. Poached eggs are also added to make this a brunch option that is tasty, with a variety of textures.
At CH James we provide healthier eating options and the Zucchini chilli corn cake, fried egg & salad is such a dish. The presentation of this dish is like art on a plate. A large corn cake with tasty zucchini, with that little bit of kick with the chilli. Combined with fried egg and a choice salad this is a perfect brunch option.
Also new to our Lunch menu is the Marinated flank steak, caramelised onions, crushed crispy spuds & cos salad, and the Calamari filled with couscous, currant, pistachio & pickled cucumber. Corporates are loving these hearty options for business lunches.
A lunch special at one stage and now permanently on the menu, the Spiced pork sausages, Asian coleslaw & siracha mayo is also proving a hit.
Again on the healthier trend in food, CH James provides a popular Grain salad - Three grains, roasted pistachio, activated almonds, seasonal veg, lemon yogurt & a poached egg. Presentation is superb and the salad is full of freshness, taste and crunch.
